My dear Doctor Blegen!

I congratulate you on our first born!

I am going to Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis. How long I will be staying there I don't know.

But Prof. Thompson will take care of all the business here in my absence.

Your answer to Mr. Nilsen is correct.

You might drop in and call while I am in the hospital.

Sincerely

O. E. Rölvaag

Prof. O. E. Rölvaag St. Olaf College Northfield, Minnesota

My dear Professor Rölvaag:--

I am awfully sorry to hear that you have to go to the hospital. I have just come in from Lake Minnetonka where I am spending a little vacation and I am trying to clear up my desk. I shall plan to come over to see you one of these days, and I very much hope that you are not having a very serious time of it.

I have just heard from Professor Thompson, who is taking care of the mailing problem.

With best wishes, I am

Sincerely yours

Theodore C. Blegen AB.

DEC 27 1926

The Norwegian American Historical Association

Member Executive Board

Northfield, Minnesota. December 20, 1926.

Fellow Member:

Our association holds its annual meeting at the New Nicollet Hotel in Minneapolis, January 4, 1927, at 2 o'clock P.M. At 6 o'clock dinner will be served to members and others interested in our work; price per plate $1.50; reservations may be made through Rev. G.T. Lee, 425 4th Street South, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Come if you can, and bring a friend with you!

Several members have already sent in their membership fee for 1927. That is splendid. If you could do the same right now, you would help the work of our association just that much.

And may we ask you to try to get us one new member for this year. To those who become members for the year 1926 we send Volume I of Studies and Records and also Volume I of Travel and Description series.

We are anxious to get as many sustaining members as possible. It costs to carry on research work. Our work of organization must go on.

We have done well since we met in St. Paul last February. At the close of that meeting we had 425 members. Now our membership has reached almost 800. We have issued two publications of importance, and have gathered a lot of valuable material which will be published in the near future. There is not the slightest doubt but that we can do great things provided we take hold of the work and are willing to sacrifice. By the way, that is the only way in which things can be done.

Sincerely yours,

O. E. Rölvaag, Secretary.
