How are there so many 'not stated' phrases on the transcript?

It was quite usual for 19th century reports to be incomplete, as information was not always sent back home in its entirety.

This means that despatches from 'the Front', as was the case in World War One and World War Two, were often incomplete. Either an Officer, during the battle, would be unable to ascertain full information as to what had happened to men under his command, or, the Officer giving the despatch, would be unwilling to give an entirely truthful report.
