@pedro apologies if you'd started on this page before I did!
Re Row 8, I see there's a gap between the sup and the hanging letter, but it still looks to me more like sup with a hanging y. The tail loop that would be below the line if in a whole word looks like the loop that would be on a capital F on the line, but a bit small for that here, perhaps? (This handwriter does use large swooping capitals.)

Geraldine53

Row 7 - please confirm Grade is Viceman? Not come across this one before is so.
Row 7 - Cause. Is the wheel an emery wheel? Again, a new term for me if so.

Geraldine53

Row 12 Cause. Do I have the type of signal correct - disc signal?

PAChi

Every wheel, yes. Is like an orbital sander sorta thing

PAChi

^emery. Derp.

PAChi

Looks like it. I mean...there are vices involved. And men. I guess someone sticking things in a vice would be a viceman?

Scrumpy Geoff

Viceman: a craftsman specialised in working metal in a vice.

PAChi

And disc signals were a thing - looks right to me (you can tell who played with the railway sets when we were kids...and it wasn't us! Dad has a lovely time tho)

Scrumpy Geoff

Row 7, definitely emery wheel

Scrumpy Geoff

Yes to disc signal

pedroc

@geraldine if you looked for the blue banner across the top of the page this wouldn't happen. You have overwritten and I have wasted my time. Plus the alterations following on from this would not have been needed.

pedroc

@ScumpyGeoff - sorry but I may be stepping back.

Scrumpy Geoff

@pedroc, please keep going. @Geraldine, these things happen. It is best to save after the first cell, then people can see

Scrumpy Geoff

@pedroc, I think LindaF is the culprit, not for the first time. I'll copy your final version and paste it back in when i get a chance. @ lindaF, don't mess up others people's pages. Read the conventions. Look at other pages

pedroc

@ScrumpyGeoff. I think your comments above are correct. I'll carry on for now Thanks.

Scrumpy Geoff

You've made my day. I'm struggling and need help. I know it's only voluntary but I do care

pedroc

That's why it makes me cross.

Scrumpy Geoff

Trust me, my poor wife has to put up with all my yelling and swearing over this. Newbies I try to forgive

pedroc

I've been doing this pre -Covid. Sometimes I'm not so forgiving !!

Scrumpy Geoff

Ah copyright forms and masters certificates... happy days!

pedroc

American family recipe books and Soldier and Officers records Dragoon guards !!

Scrumpy Geoff

I managed to avoid those. Love cooking not interested in military stuff.

pedroc

My 3 x great uncle was a dragoon guard but I didn't get his service record. I like social history and recipes.
