@Scrumpy Geoff my famous patience is running very short! Having completed this page earlier this afternoon, and noticing that the infamous @LindaF had meanwhile completed the previous page (69), I've just looked over her work on that page and corrected several errors of interpretation, spelling and such regular ones for her as the Rates needing to be given in s and d, and abbreviations in the ledger being transcribed then given in full in square brackets.
I then look back to page 70 that I'd marked completed, to find she'd been in there and changed my correct renderings of the above to her preferred form!
I'm not playing this game any more. I will not be correcting any more of her pages and if she again uncorrects one I've completed, I'll be off altogether. Sorry.
And Cwesuccwydd, Linda? Never existed, unlike Croesnewydd, as I correctly transcribed it in the first place (though more usually given as two words Croes Newydd). A simple Google will tell you that's a real place in the Land of my Bilingual Grandmother, who grew up a stone's throw away from Wrexham. I haven't come across such pettiness since primary school.
Ok, having taken the air and calmed down, I've now gone back in and corrected just the names of people and places where @LindaF had replaced my accurate ones with her misreadings. Those are the injustices I'm mainly enraged by. If anyone else wants to go in and amend her style to match the standard conventions, feel free.
@Geraldine, the woman is a menace. I have emailed TNA asking to have her blocked. If you need to restore a page try this, go to the versions tab, in the list to the left, click the version you want to restore and this should appear in the left hand pane, use your cursor to highlight all the text and copy it (right click and copy usually works best), then click on the transcribe tab, put your cursor in the first cell and paste.
Thanks so much, Geoff. Sorry about the rants! She really caught me on the raw, as must be evident. It just seemed so pettily vindictive. But I do, with the renewed calm of hindsight, wonder if there's some way she's just not seeing these notes and is blundering on by accident? Whatever, if she can't be reached and can't learn, I think you're right, she needs to be stopped.
