Interesting one. Looks like Llanrose but no such place in Anglesey. Nearest I can find is Llanrhos near Llandudno in Caernarvonshire - next county to Anglesey. On the claim form it looks like Llanrose. The claim form and certificate are signed with a cross. I find it quite surprising that you could become a master mariner without being able to sign your name, but have come across it before. I found his marriage certificate - marrying in 1864 as a 42 year old widower, master mariner, living in Caernarvon. Still signing with a cross.
