worst. This morning before breakfast they went of with a
raft of water casks and come of with them filled before
breakfast. after dinner Daniel and I and Dolly went ashore
Daniel took a barrel of shist [?] to trade and white cloth. after he
got through trading we went to several of the Huts then we
walked round a spell then come down to the boat the rollers
was coming in quite heavy come all over the stern of the boat
before I got in. I got one foot set but got aboard all right.

April 25th
We had a very heavy tempest this evening thunder was very heavy
lightning very sharp and the rain come down in torrents and
rained all night and every thing is wet enough on deck this morning
It has been cloudy all day. have not had so many natives
aboard to day. Daniel and the mates was over the side of the
vessel taring and corking the sides getting ready to paint been
over these all day. no trading going on to day a very long day.

April 26th
This fore noon daniel seys guess we will go ashore so I got my
hat and started. When we got ready to land a heavy roller come
and broke over the sterm of the boat where I sat setting me all
over had to right back aboard The vessel and change my
clothes and then started again and this time landed nicely.
The Star-board watch had libert to day. we stayed ashore till
most three oclock. went to the priest house and to Tom
Humblingtons and then went and sat down on the grass by
the shore and watched the native boys in the rollers on serf
boards It was a sight to see them come in on the boards when
a big roller come. Mr Davis come and sat down with us to
see them.

April 27th
We had more rain last night, but we are having a beautiful
day. I fixed seven plants to day put new dirt to them and
washed quite a wash am feeling very tired to night. Daniel
has working over the side about all daay to day finding places
where the worms have got in and putty in new peaces of
boards, and sent of a raft to get water been very busy to
day. natives aboard same as usual.

April 28th
This forenoon helped daniel strain lime juice in bottles.
fixed one plant, and filled a bottle with peppers and
finished of a truss for the Governor, and after dinner
we went ashore and they had a dance for us Had a
home all trimed up with braided palm leaves and
