First of this Day Strong gales at S.S.W. Clear Weather, at
10 Oclock gave her a long Scope on the best Bower according
to the Pilots orders. In the Morning got Orders to get un
der way, Weighed the Stream Anchor with the Jolly Boat
Hove Short on the Cable, Set the TopSails,--- Mr Overson came
on board to See us off, at noon broke Ground and Soon left
Drontheim out of Site astern, where we have been for almost
9 Months at 2 Single reefed the topSails, and trySails. at [3?]
Double reefed them; Blowing brisk by [flaws?], at 6 began
to reef, and Shake out for the remainDer of the Day,--- Passed
Hill, Vales, rocks, ledges, Mountains, Swamps, Harbours, bays
rivers, Creeks &c--- to bring it into one Sum it may be called a
wild Desert, or a Barren Wilderness, at Midnite half way
down to Christian Sound, lent Capt Briggs 3 [ren?] Dollars
So end the Day Drontheim far astern

The first of this Day very lite winds from S.E. made Sail
and took in Sails as Occation required, latter Part of the Day
more Winds from S.S.E and Clear Weather,--- at 8 Oclock Sent
up the Maintopgallant Yard, and Set the Sail Passed a
Very obscure harbour where were redeing at Anchor, one
Ship and one Brig, Made Several tacks before we Coude gain
the Sound, which is very narrow, and well Paved with high
Stobourn Rocks, many Places could [tost?] a [B..?] acrost, pased
a Small Battery at the front of the Citty. at 1 P.M. Cast
Anchor in 10 Fathoms of Warter. about in the middle of the
Town which is Planted on Sollid Rocks, in many Shapes and forms
Moored with the Stream Cable on the N. Shore to rings fashined
in the rocks on Porpese, She Soon brought the anchor Home
and swung round anongst the rocks, Carreed Small lines to the
opposite Shore of Rocks, hove up the Anchor, and hauled out into
the Middle of the Sound, let the Anchor go again, with more
Schope, and Moored as before, A Custom House Boat came on
Board,--- as Well as Several others. In the evening Several Sailors
Whomb we were acquainted with in Drontheim--- Handed the
Sailes, and got Clear Decks again fore and aft, So ends the Day
