Logbook of a whaling voyage to the Atlantic, Indian, and Pacific Oceans. Includes description of whales seen or taken, accidents, deaths at sea, punishments, and shipboard medicine. Also contains whale stamps, a crew list, and a sketch of the Bark Canton. One man died on 29 December 1873 after receiving medical attention. One man fell from the main yard on 8 February 1874, broke his leg as a result, and saw a doctor on Norfolk Island. One man tried to attack other members of the crew with a cutting spade and was punished as a result on February 14, 1874. One man was killed by a whale on August 4, 1874. One man was thrown in irons for threatening members of the crew on September 16, 1874.
