about half a million
Negroes live and work
on farms in North Caro-
lina. Many of these own
large farms and are suc-
cessful farmers.
In appointing this
body, let me hasten to say
there was no thought
out intervention definitely
to discriminate against
its many capable and
useful negros who could
serve on such an important
board with credit faith
