Know all Men by these Presents that I Isabell Hall of the Town and County of New Castle upon Tyne Spinster; Sister Executrix of Enoch hall formerly of Eden House in North Carolina Esquire and also Chief Justice there but Late of Newbiggin in the County of Northumberland deceased for divers good causes and Considerations me thereto moving have named, ordained Constituted and Appointed and by these presents do name Ordain Constitute and Appoint John Rutherford Esqr. receiver General of North Carolina aforesaid my True and Lawfull Attorney for me and in my name and in my behalf and [crossed out word] to and for my Own proper use and behoof to Ask demand sue for Recovery receive of the Executors of Henry MacCulloch Esqr. deceased and all and every other person and persons in North Carolina aforesaid all such Sallary Debts due Sum & Sums of Money Bonds Bills Goods and Chattle, whatsoever as were due and Owing or did belong to my said late Brother Enoch Hall at the time of his death or any time hereafter shall grow or become due or belong to the Estate of my said late brother or any Account of for any Matter or thing Whatsoever and upon receipt thereof or other Satisfaction given for the same to make seal and Deliver or otherwise execute Acquitance or Acquitancy or Other Sufficient discharge for or Concerning or Any Part thereof for me and in my name or Otherwise as the case shall require And I do hereby further Appoint and impower my said Attorneys to sell and dispose of all such plantations Missuages or other real Estate in North Carolina aforesaid as my said Brother was possessed off at the time of his death for the best prise that can be had or got for the same and for me and in my name to make Seal and Execute such Conveyancy as shall

be necessary for the Absolute Selling and Conveying the same, And to Act and do all other Lawfull and reasonable Act and Acts thing and things Devise and Devises whatsoever which my said Attorney, Shall think fit or needfull to be done in or about the premises of As fully and Amply in every respect as I my self might or could do if I was personally Present And one or more Attorney or Attorney's for the purpose aforesaid to Constitute and Appoint and Again at his Pleasure to revoak ratifying and hereby Confirming and Alowing all and whatsoever my said Attorney his substitutes or Assigns shall by virtue of those presents in my name and on my behalf lawfull do or cause to be done in and about the premises In Witness whereof I the said Isabella Hall have hereunto set my hand and Seal the nineteenth day of January in the year of Our Lord 1754. ------- Isabella Hall Exd. These are to Certifye that the within named Isabella Hall came this day personally before me Henry Eden Esqr. Mayor of the said Town and County of New Castle upon Tyne and made Oath that she is sole Executrix of the last Will and Testament of her late Brother Enoch Hall deceased a True and Examined Copy of which said Will is hereunto Anexed And also Administratix of all and Singular the Goods Chattles and Credits of her said late brother And I do hereby further Certify that she did in my Presents Seal and as her Act and Deed dliver the within as Above Written Letter of Attorney In Testamony Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal of the Mayoralty of the said Town this nineteenth day of January 1754 [circled word (Seal)] Hen: Eden Mayor

[text in margin (Enoch Hall's Will)] In the name of God Amen, this is the last Will and Testament of me Enoch Hall of New Biggin in the County of Northumberland Esqr. made published and declared this first day of July in the year of Our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Fifty One first I charge all my Estate with the payment of my Just debts and funeral expences. I also give and demise all these my Missuages Lands Tenements and Farmholds comonly call'd and known by the ^(several) names of Cotelough Spethopohead Snithopehaugh, uper Chattle hope, neither Chattle hope babswood, Yapshaugh, Westony nether have bow or shall Sylls and Sylburne, the hold otherwise the [crossed out word] ^(shall) long bank Stobb, Jellyburn, Davy ^(Street) [crossed out word (shall)] and Davy ^(Street) [crossed out word] hope the hill otherwise north Cuswilelus and also all my Missuages Lands Tenements and hereditaments whatsoever in the said County of Northumberland unto my dear Sister Isabella Hall her hiers and Assigns for ever charged nevertheless as is in hereafter Mentioned, I also give and bequeath unto my nephew John Cay, the sum of One hundred pound, And I also give and bequeath unto my nephew Richard Cay and Gabril Cay and unto my niece Grace Cay the sum of three hundred pounds each, And I also give and bequeath unto my nephews John Gelphin, Richard Gelphin and Martin Gelphin and to my niece Ruth Gelphin three hundred pounds each, and I also give and bequeath to my dear Sister, Sarah Hall, the sum of Two hundred pounds and to my Nieces Ruth Hall and Sarah Hall the sum of three hundred pounds each, And I also give and bequeath to my Nephew Edward Hall, the sum of One thousand pounds all which said Legacys are to be paid Twelve month's after my decease And at their respective Ages of Twenty One years, And I also charge all my said Devised estate with the ^(payment of the) Annal sum of Forty pounds to

to be paid half yearly to my dear sister Mary Hall for and during the Term of her natural life And I give to my honoured Mother all the household Furniture in Newbiggin house together with the Chane and Horses thereto belonging And house to all my Plate during her life And I do hereby Constitute Ordain and Appoint my said Sister Isabell Hall sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament, In Witness Whenof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal And published and Declared this to be my last Will and Testament the day and year first above Written ---- Enoch Hall

Signed Sealed published and declared by the above Mentioned Enoch Hall the Testator as his last Will and Testament in Our presence who set Our names as Witnesses hereunto in the presence of and at the request of The Testator and also in the presence of each other (the word Gabril struck out and the word Edward enterd. And by the Testa =tor before the Execution hereof, Richard Rogerson Mathew Wallis Edward Beddard.

Whereas since the making of the wihtin Will I have given Security to my Sister Mary now the wife of Joseph Sozonby for the payment of Two hundred pounds in full Satisfaction for her Mariage portion therefore my Will is that the Lands within Mentioned be exempted and freed from the payment of the Anuity of Forty Pounds given to my said Sister Mary by my within Will And I do hereby Charge all my Lands within Mentioned With the payment with the yearly sum of Forty Pounds to my brother Robert Gelphin and Ruth his Wife and to the Survivor of them, the first Payment to be made on the first feast ^(or) day of Payment next after my death. In
