Dearest ones, Yes, it's your foreign correspondent reporting again. From where? Oh, your guess is good as mine, which is no good! After being up on the forward deck the last hour watching and listening to the enlisted mens impromptu entertainment program, I went below and got out my map of the world and sort of tried to map out our course. The sailing directions change as often during the day, it is purely guess work - all we know is it was cold when we left and we needed jackets outside and inside, until this a.m when it gradually became quite warm, (and) thats understandable but not much ise in giving one's position on this wide blue ocean- it ? Yes, it jas been some experience so far - a mixture of emotions, anxiety, elation, fear, gayety, sympathy, wonder. Things happened quickly last Monday - and we were rushed (...) then aboard after time enogh for one meal. At dusk, we marched up the gangpalng, after a trip across the bay in an army truck. It was my 3rd trop across the bay, but I guess I did more looking that on previous trops because I sort of wondered when it is I'd be seeing it again. So - I found myself aboard a troop ship- (..) us in a small (...) for 2, but even as it was o.k. with us. The settled (...) having our pieces checked- helmet , gas mask, army haversack, our own musette bag, suitcase etc No mishap and everything accounted for. We were introduced to the captain of the ship and then outside to watch the proceedings. We watched over the sail aft(?) as the pier gave pver a steady stream of third, thense khaki - clad(?) boys under full back with their heavily loaded duffle bags weighing them down + their large riffles or carbines swinging awkwardly over their
