My darling Wife,

We didn't
have mail call today but
during the day I got off a
V-mail to Mother and a
letter to Irene and Pauline. While
writing the letter I had
the worst possible happen.
I was folding a sheet of paper
like this one and dropped
my pen. It landed squarely
on the point and is beyond
fixing. It is the Parker lifetime
I bought at Reynold's so I
suppose the only thing to do
is to send it to the factory.
