My dearest Julia,

I have done nothing today but the same old thing. Still working. We will have in slack again in a day ot two. Yes, I get another shot today. I did not hurt and I can't feel it now. I don't think this one will even make my arm sore. Guess I am just getting used to the,

Do you remember tonight twelve years ago. Well I am away again but no one is out looking for me this time. I am not sleeping in a hotel either. Thinking about hat night now it is really funny. Tell Skeeter and Lee I thought about there wedding aniversity.

I am well, feeling fine and getting along O.K. Wish I knew how you were and could see you this minute. I try to figure back and guess what you are doing at different times of the day. You see we are five hours ahead of you. When I am going to bed it not even dark at home, I love you all the time.

Gove my love to the teachers. I would sure love to drop in there on a surprise visit and see you. I will write a long letter in a few days. Just wanted to get you a little today. I love, you, Harry

Dearest Julia,

I received some more mail today but not a letter could be found for me. I got a Index dated Jan 6th and the Readers Digest. Tell Katie and Henry I have received it and how proud I am of it. I will be looking for your letters every day but don't know when they will arrive.

We had another busy night and day. We worked last night until one o'clock up at six thirty this morning and at it again. We have everything squared away enough so that I am likely to get liberty tomorrow for the first time in two weeks. I'm going to spend my time washing clothes and getting a haircut. I am behind in my washing and hair cuts too. Well that is as good away to spend liberty as I know of here. There is nothing to do if you go out. That is nothing I want to do. Some boys spend theirs drinking but not for me. I don't eat or drink anything except what I get in the Mess Hall.

I am still crowing a little bit about my mail. I got thirty six letters and the nearest to me was Bennett with thirty four. I love you so much for all these letters. I just couldn't help crowing a little bit.

I am feeling fit as a fiddle and gainging a little weight I think. I weighted the last time I was on liberty but couldn't tell how much I weighed. They have a scale on the sidewalk here but it give your weight in a different weight. I believed I weighed 60K whatever that is.

I went down this morning to the wash rooms and shaved in a lavatory with a mirror over it, I was a real treat this is our first lavatories and we are some of proud of them. We were washing our face and hands under a pipe with a spicket in it. We will be feeling mighty Ritzy before long.

Talking about getting up [crossed out] at six thirty that is about two hours before light. How about me getting up that much before light. It gets light good about 8:30 and dark about 8:00 o'clock. That sounds funny doesn't it? Will everything is different the people are even dark. It is 9:15 now guess you are thinking about supper. Bless your little heart I would love to eat with you.

Hope to get some more mail from you real soon. I want to know how you are. Will be so glad when the letters from you can come in a few days then I wouldn't be so far behind in know how you were getting along. I will be looking and waiting and loving you all the time. Every [crossed out] minute.

I love you, Harry

My dearest Thomas,

I will tell you at the start I don't know how this letter is going to sound. I am trying to write to you and talk to the painters at the same time. I might have any kind of news in here.

We moved in our new building last week .and the carpenters are still working on it. We have to Quonset huts joined together for an office. Half of the back one is fixed up for our living quarters. It really does make a nice office.

We have eight bunks, four in each corner, double deck. They were built against the wall with slats in them. It made a pretty hard bunk with just a thin mattress to sleep on. I took the army cot I was using, cut the legs off, took the slats out of the bunk and fitted the cot into the frame. I makes a fairly good sleeping bunk now. It is not like sleeping on a solid foundation neither is it like sleeping on box springs.
