A History of My Tenth Acre

This is the first year I have been a member of the Canning Club I enjoyed this years work so much That I shall be a member next year I sold my tomatoe seed in March my papa sowed the seeds for me and they came [illegible] and green all nicely I set my plants in my plot of ground the 10th of May and planted the stringless green pod snaps beans between every row I did not stake my plants but wish I had for the bushes were so full of fine tomatoes that they fell over and sun baked we did not can many because the cans we ordered were delayed and I lasted [?] a great many Mama used all she wanted on the table and I gave way for [four] or five bushels I gathered tin [ten] of fifteen bushes at the time but because

to Can same took the canner and went over and did her canning for her We canned several jars of peaches an apples I am very proud of what I learned about raising tomatoes and canning theam
