Dear Sir

On the 14th May last, I sent you the certified copies of the Laws of 1866 & 67, also the Laws [&?] [Charters?] of the Society as published in the State Paper at Albany.

These being documents appertaining to this office, and [often?] required for business purposes, you will oblige by returning them by the return mail.

How goes on [the?] work of [money?] in your district?

Dear Sir

In perserverance of the duties [attaching?] to this Society, I yesterday visited the Constables situated in the [22d?] precinct of this city; and I deem it my duty to invite your attention to the condition of the places where the [cows?] are confined. These animals, according to the admission of some of their owners, have not been out of the stables for six [underlined] years [underlined] - eighteen months, six months [illegible]. Some of these creatures have the hoofs so elongated for want of use [illegible] they are some 9 or 10 inches long & turn up, [like?] skates! Great sores are on some of their bodies; [illegible] are filthy to the last degree.
