The [Reender?] in passing sentence, severely denounced the brutal pastime of dog fighting, and warned all present, that in any future case coming before him, he would impose the uttermost fine and penalty allowed by the law.

4 The Counsel advised that no action should at present be taken by the Society in relation to the Cider Press dogs at Walker's saloon, on Broadway.

5 Reported that the Executors of the late Gustav [C?] Braun had [insinuated?] their readiness to pay over to the Society, $5250- being the principal & interest of the legacy bequeathed by that gentleman.

Counsel reported that he had prepared a release for the President to hand to the Executors.

Approved and the following Resolution was moved, seconded, and carried that

Whereas [underlined] the Executors of the late Gustav Braun have notified this Society of their readiness to pay the legacy left it by said Braun, with interest, Resolved [underlined] that Henry. Bergh Esq, President of this Society be and he is hereby authorized to receive the same and to execute and deliver in behalf of this Society, and under its corporate seal a proper receipt therefor.
