6 Produced draft of letter proposed by the President, to be sent to the Governor of each of those States & Territories which have not up to the present time, any laws for the protection of Animals, upon their [Statute?] Books. The letter referred to the coming Centennial, and urged upon their excellencies to use their influence to obtain Laws for their several States, in the hope that the whole Union might be represented as taking part in the humane work, at the Centennial.

7 Counsel reported upon affairs at Albany and stated that the [illegible] Bill had passed both houses & was now only awaiting the signature of the governor.

8 The President moved the following three Resolutions which were seconded and carried unanimously.

Whereas [underlined] [Alfred?] Sch[illegible] Esq one of the fifteen members of this Committee has for over six successive months been absent from its meetings

Resolved [underlined] that the seat of said Alfred [illegible] is hereby declared vacant pursuant to the provisions of section seven of Chapter XVII of the Code of By-Laws of this Society and that he be notified thereof.
