Dear Dr. Leffingwell:-
Please let me hear from you as soon as possible in reply to the question in regard to Animals Rights. I am sending you a package of old letters etc., which I wish you would examine I thought you might keep what you thought should be preserved and recorded and tell me if there is anything in the lot that calls for any attention on my part. I have not examined them myself lately.
You will also find a paper in regard to Robert Osborne. Did I not lend him some money? Have you kept run of him? Is he able to pay any of it? I think it is demoralizing for people to borrow and not feel any responsibility about the payment of the debt. I think there is another person also to whom I loaned one hundred dollars at your request. I think he ought to pay something on it [crossed out] the note, otherwise it will be outlawed. In cases where it is best and practicable I would like to collect some of the money owing to me, but use your
judgement about mentioning it.
Yrs in haste S. J. Eddy
