Nov [NOVEMBER] 4th this day light airs & passing clouds at 5 P.M. tacked to the south
squalls of rain through the night. No Gulf weed. no flying fish

5th Nov. [NOVEMBER] First part moderate breezes & passing clloud all sail set by the wind
Middle fresh winds & light squalls
Latter part fresh winds & light fog the same ship in sight I saw 2 days ago has beat us about 8 miles in 48 hours. No Gulf weed few flying fish. real Trade clouds & Trade weather

6th Nov [NOVEMBER]- First part fine breezes & passing clouds strong tide rips
Middle fine breezes & passing clouds. sharp head sea.
at 7 A.M. spoke ship Sabine (the ship that has been in company 2 days)
38 days from N.York for Calcutta. Latter part fresh breezes passing cloud No Gulf weed few F fish strong tide rips short bad sea

7th Nov. [NOVEMBER] This day fresh breezes & passing clouds close halled [HAULED] by the wind the first time the wind has been to the north of east for 15 days
I am far to leward. have tried to keep Maurys track, the wind will not
let me. Shall evidently fetch to leward to St. Roque. can't help it
No weed no birds. any quantity of F. fish. It looks gloomy enough

8 Nov [NOVEMBER] all this day fresh breezes from the east to E.N.E. & pleasant
all sail set by the wind great quantities of F fish. no weed
strong tide rips. very strong. bad S.E. sea. little prospect

9th Nov [NOVEMBER]- all this day fine breezes & pleasant weather all sail set by the wind
no tide rips. no weed. few F fish. getting along first rate nearly
recovered Maurys track. shall endeavour to stick as close
to it as winds will permit

10th Nov [NOVEMBER]- First part fine moderate breezes & passing clouds
Middle squally wind from the S.E.
Latter part moderate & rainy wind from south to S.S.W.
at 8 A.M. tacked to the S.E. no Obs. [OBSERVATION]

11th Nov. [NOVEMBER] First part light airs & cloudy. short sea from S.E. no weed
Middle light airs & cloudy
Latter part nearly calm have experienced 1/2 knott easterly current
since morning. it looks dismal no wind no chance to get along south

12th Nov [NOVEMBER] First part light airs & passing clouds. no weed. no fish
Middle light airs & passing clouds all sail set by the wind 25 days on the {wind
Latter part the same. have regained Maurys track
