7th day morning the weather was tolerably fair but much snow on the ground. Many Sleighs went out of town, mostly to Siasconset, on parties of pleasure. In the afternoon the wind came NW & increased very much, & the weather grew cold very fast. So that all the Sleighs left to come home early in the afternoon, but before they had got half way down, the wind increased to a violent Hurricane, & the atmosphere was wholly obscured with the snow, so that they could not see their way, to any distance.
