3 mo 1834 The spring comes in with moderate weather frequent rains & the weather generally warm for the season, vegetation comes forward earlier than usual.

4th The season continues fine, but the but the business of the place is very dull. The Coasters laying by the wharves without a prospect of business.

27. 4 This morning southerly wind and rain. The weather very chilly and cold. After the morning the wind changed to the westward & a snow storm set in which fell in squalls, and continued for an hour or two. Notwithstanding the ground was very wet the snow fell so continuously that it was an inch deep on the sward land.

2nd 5 mo Our markets are extremely dull for all the articles usually brought here for sale. The wharves are mostly covered with wood which notwithstanding, the price is kept pretty high. it sells from 6 to 6 1/2$, Corn 70 to 75, Flour 6 to 6.50, Hay 16$ per ton, Sperm Oil in the crude state 6 cents, Spring Oil strained 71 to 75 at [MARKET?], Candles 26, Whale Oil 26. All a very dull sale.

3rd 5 mo A heavy rain storm with a strong gale Thunder & lightening.

7th A hard rain storm from 11 o'clock AM to 6 o'clock PM. We have had much rain this spring, but too cold for vegetation, except grass.
