Latter the same with some rain.

First part brisk breezes from E. S. East.
Stearing N. East by the wind under
short sail. One ship insight. Middle
part and latter stearing the same
under single reaf [REEF] topsails.

January 15th
First part brisk breezes from E. S. East
Stearing to the N. East by the wind.
At 2 P.M spokle and gamed [GAMMED] with
ship Normand bound home. Sent
letters. Saw two sails. Saw the land
Sunday Island [RAOUL ISLAND]. Middle part wore
ship to the south. Latter stering the
same under moderate sail. La [LATITUDE] 30, 16 Long [LONGITUDE] 179 00

Tuesd [TUESDAY]
Janua [JANUARY] 16th
First part brisk breezes from East.
Stearing south with single reaf [REEF]
topsails. Saw two sails. Emploid [EMPLOYED] breaking
out and regulating after hole [HOLD]. Middle
part wore ship to North. Latter part
wore ship to the south. Saw Macolly [MACAULEY]
Island. So ends 31, 09 Long [LONGITUDE] 179 15

Weds [WEDNESDAY]
Janua [JANUARY] 17th
First part moderate breezes from East.
Stearing south. Saw a sail. At 6 P.M
shortened sail for the night. ["MIDDLE" CROSSED OUT]
["PART" CROSSED OUT] sent out a new martingale.
Middle part and latter stearing
the same. Saw a bark.
