to the north. Midle [MIDDLE] part our ship
stearing the the same. Latter part tacked
ship to the north. So ends Lat [LATITUDE] 1 00 North 171 27

August 7th
First part commences with strong
trade breeze. Ship stearing by the
wind to the N. East. Light sails in.
Emploid [EMPLOYED] making a large water but [BUTT].
Midle [MIDDLE] part tacked ship to the south.
Latter stearing S. East by the wind.
So ends this day in Lat [LATITUDE] 0 10 North 170 45
Wedns [WEDNESDAY]
August 8th
First part brisk breezes. Shop stearing
S. East by the wind. All sail set.
Light sails. In Midle [MIDDLE] part at midnight
tacked ship to the north. At daylight
tacked again to the S. East by the wind
which is verry [VERY] light. Lat [LATITUDE] 1 30 North 171, 25
Thursd [THURSDAY]
August 9th
First part light airs. Ship tacked to the
north. At 4 P.M spoke ship Ocean
26 months out 1700 sperm. Midle [MIDDLE] part
stearing to the north. Latter the same.
All sail set. So ends Lat [LATITUDE] 00 35 North Long [LONGITUDE] 170 29

August 10th
First part light airs. Ship stearing
to the N.N. East. All sail set. Saw a sail
stearing to the south. Midle [MIDDLE part and
latter stearing the same. All sail
set. At 10 A.M spoke ship Daniel Webster
36 months 800. So ends in Lat [LATITUDE] 00 30 170 39

First part brisk breezes. Ship stearing
