First part saw a breach of whale
and steard [STEERED] for it but saw
nothing more. Saw two sails. Midle [MIDDLE]
part stearing to the north. Wind
from west. Latter part wore ship to
south saw a sail and finbacks. 26 00 175 04
Thursd [THURSDAY]
June 11th
First part brisk breezes. Ships stearing
to the south. All sail. Saw two sails
to windward. Midle [MIDDLE] part under easy
sail. Latter part tacked to the north.
Saw three sails. So ends Lat [LATITUDE] 26 17 175 05
Frid [FRIDAY]
June 12th
First part moderate breezes from the
west. At 2 P.M spoke ship Two Brother
Two Brothers New Bedford 35 months 500.
At 4 P.M spoke ship Harvest Nantuck [NANTUCKET]
46 months out. 2300 sperm and whale.
Midle [MIDDLE] part stearing to north. Latter
part to south. So ends. 26 16 175 00
Satur [SATURDAY]
June 13th
First part strong breezes from the
west. Ship stearing south. Topsails
reafed [REEFED]. Midle [MIDDLE] part fore topsail in.
Latter part light winds. Spoke bark
Alabama of Nantucket in Lat [LATITUDE] 26 30 175 00
Sund [SUNDAY]
June 14th
First part light airs and calms. Shop
hading [HEADING] to S. East. Midle [MIDDLE] part took a breez [BREEZE]
from the West. Latter part strong breezes
with heavy squals [SQUALLS] of wind and rain.
Ship stearing S. East a cours [COURSE] under
reaf [REEFED] topsails. Saw finbacks. 26 50 173 40
Mond [MONDAY]
June 15th
First part much the same as yesterday.
Midle [MIDDLE] part and latter heading
to the south. Wind bloing [BLOWING]
strong with squals [SQUALLS] from the west.
So ends this day Lat [LATITUDE] 27 39 172 54
