Unsure about this letter/symbol: Founding "V" Name, Founding "U" Name, or Founding "and" Name?

darwensi

Should symbols that look like periods be transcribed as periods even if they are mixed in with commas?

Arafua Reed

Hello. For your first question: Yes, those are "and/&" symbols, not V/U's. They should be transcribed as "&". There's one entry on this page, next to "Petition for Meadows"; that is "&c." This should be transcribed as "&c [etc.]"
For your second question: yes, punctuation should be transcribed as they appear, even if grammatically awkward or incorrect.
Thank you!

darwensi

Got it thanks! Shall I go back in and make those corrections or will you all do that?

Arafua Reed

I'll make the corrections for this page. You've done a great job so far!

darwensi

TY!!!
