Hello, this is my first transcription of tabular data, and I did not use the spreadsheet. I tried to insert tabs, etc. so the transcription would align more with the original text, but I couldn't do that. If these need to go into the spreadsheet, I am happy to go back and do that. Sorry if I didn't do this correctly. Bill H.

Hi Bill,
This entry is really great so far! First, you do not have to enter this table into the spreadsheet; we're using those only for the data given within birth certificates.
Second, the only things I would edit are where the line breaks are typed since they split a set of words into two separate lines. The data in this table are like receipts of payment, which means the lines start with the date of the receipt and end with the total paid in that check. For example, "Mar'h" and "23" are squished into the side margin, but they would be read together as a date for that receipt. The first entry can be written in one line like this: "Mar'h 23 To Cash paid Trustees of District No. 1 for the Support of C. Schools 53.55" with the second line being "Do [sentence] 34.38", so on and so forth. The "$ cts" should also be entered above the first entry of the table since they're the data format the total cash is recorded in, and they symbols are separate from the sentence they're written next to.
I hope this makes sense, you can always ask more questions if it doesn't, and, this is a good example to look over if seeing an example helps!
