[Page 386 in margin] Know all men by these presents that we Sohor Sasconeman Alias Rumasuck Samous Werah and Sawamise all Indians Belonging to the Township of Oyster Bay being Informed that some Differance was like to arise between the Township of Oyster Bay and the Township of Hempstead concerning Cantiague or where ye rights or true Cantiague there fore we Sehor Susconeman Samous Werah and Sawamis aforeseaid to end the Differeance aforesaid In bearing and Indian name did freely offer the Town of Oyster Bay and have shown and unanimousely marked a White Oak tree in ye poynt of trees yt lies on the plaines between Jerico and hempstead to be real and true Cantigue that Divides the two towns afroesaid in the presence of Gersham Lock wod and Robert Knights beaing person no waise concerned this 5th day of November Anoy Dominis one Thousand six hundred Ninety Eight and this white Oak tree which we marked is a tree that was formerly marked In witness where of we have here unto sett our hand and fixed to our seales this fifth day of November In ye year of our Lord one thousand Six hundred ninety Eight
