What is your wife's name?

Did you have any children at that time? No

What do you do how? I'd rather not answer this.

When did you know that you were going to be part of the invasion? When the Southern Part of England was sealed off from outside communication about 28, May 1944. We were given final briefing and instructions,

What was the trip like during the crossing of the Channel? Do you remember, for example, any conversations you had or how you passed the time? Trip was uneventful, for the most part. I worked in the galley as cook's helper preparing breakfast.

What were the rumors on board the boat, ship or plane in which you made the crossing? (Some people remember scuttlebut to the effect that the Germans had poured gasoline on the water and planned to set it afire when the troops came in). one rumore was that it was just another training trip

Do you know of anybody else who landed within those 24 hours (midnight June 5 to midnight June 6) as infantry, glider or airborne troops, or who took part in the air and sea operations, whom we should write to? No.

Dear Miss Ward My name is Mervin C. Heefner. I live at 1816 C Avenue, New Castle, Indiana Phone 4195 W. Army Serial Number 20,341,027. Was with Company B, 115th Infantry Combat Team attached to the First Infantry Division on June 6, 1944 in the Normany Invasion.
