Did you by any chance keep a diary of what happened to you that day? -yes
Were any of your friends killed or wounded either during the landing or
during the day? not for sure
Do you remember any conversations you had with them before they became
casualties ?
Were you wounded? - no
Do you remember what it was like--that is, do you remember whether you
felt any pain or were you so surprised that you felt nothing?

Do you remember seeing or hearing anything that seems funny now, even
though it did not, of course, seem amusing at the time ?
It took me nearly an hour to climb out of a large drainage canal
I had to cross. I had one arm + leg partly paralized
from the jump - The sky was blue in the dark
& I didn't care if the whole German army heard me

Do you recall any incident, sad -or heroic, or simply memorable, which struck
you more than anything else?
A regular U.S. Army Colonel boarded our plane just before we took off from }
England. He was wearing a jump suit & carrying a } (who?)
parachute. Said he'd never jumped before, asked if }
he could go along with us & if we'd show him how to
put on his parachute & use it. He made it
