Dear Miss Ward;
Enclosed are a few of my points of interest as requested in your quest-
ionaire. I will be glad to assist you in this project if you so desire. I
am departing the 101st Airborne Division and Fort Campbell, Kentucky on the
31st of this month for a new assignment. I will be assigned to Carlisle
Barracks, Pennsylvania, on the 5th of August and will attend the U.S. Army
War College until the middle of June 1959. I am sure an interview can be
arranged during my tour at school, but I suggest you advise me prior to
your arrival. This will insure you that I won't be on a trip, or off Post
for any other reason.
I have suggested two additional names of officer's presently with the
Division who were with the 101st during World War II and participated in
the Normandy invasion. There are many personnel assigned to Fort Campbell
who could furnish you with many items of interest for this project. I
think a visit to this Post would be very profitable. You could make arr-
angements through either of the two officer's I have listed.
My address at the War College is Colonel James J. Hatch, Student De-
tachment, U.S. Army War College, Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania.
Sincerely,
James J. Hatch
Colonel, Infantry
Commanding
