Dear Miss Ward.

Ironically enough I received your letter
exactly 14 years after D-Day Normandy.

Please accept this diary & use it as
long as you deem necessary for Mr.
Ryans' book, but please do return it
to me when he's finished with it.

I've never attempted any writing
of any sort, but I've been saying to
myself for 14 years that if I had the
ability I would certainly love to write
just the exact book that Mr. Ryan is
going to write.

I wish I had a vocabulary large
enough to dig into & come up with words
to describe how I myself & many more
kids my age or a year or 2 older changed
from irresponsible adolescents to adults
