BR E Gold

Trooper Brian Sttridge, 35 years old on d)Day and he was a tanker.
We are unable to determine wheter he went in on D-day or just after midnight
that night. The only interesting thing was that on the way over on the night
of the 5th and 6th he and his friend Trooper Fred Axtell were so unconcerned
about the assault landing that they spent their time fishing for cod. One of
their Sergeants came up to them and said "What the devil do you thing you
are doing?” They simply said "Fishing”. He left them saying "Absolutely Daft.”
Pick up extra details from questionnaire and letter.
