I cannot address too strongly the importance of
the detailed "briefing" of even the humblest member of
the expedition. There is no doubt in my mind that it was the
single most important influence which carried the operation
forward in spite of the difficulties which had to be
faced as a result of the weather and the usual operational
factors which cannot be accurately predetermined.
