Gerard was married and settled in Holborin where he died in Feb 1612.
Johnson's alterations and improvements, if of considerable
extent, marked with an obelisk t and with additions and rewritten
passages marked with a double obelisk [symbol]

The 2 post humous ed. of 1633 and 36 by the able and serupulous
T. Johnson, are much less esteemed as bibliographic prizes, but
were more used by later botanists and improved Gerard's reputation.
