5 full page woodcuts, one to each division of the
book 1, 29, 40, 61, 68.

The Ara Morjendi, The Art of Dying was a popular subject
in the late Middle Ages. It gives advice about the preporation
for death, contemplations on the meaning of death, death
rites, and consolation for the mourners. The approach to
death corresponds to conventional medieval traditions. The
subject was further developed in the Dances of Death
of the 16th and 17th centuries.
