Sir, I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Excellency's letter under date the 7th May, 1836 forwarding an authenticated copy and translation of a [Firman?] issued by His Majesty the Shah placing the Trade of British Merchants on the same footing with respect to public dues as that of Russian Merchants and subjoining an extract from the Commercial Treaty between Persia and Russia which fixes the duties -
2d. In reply to this communication I beg to state that it does not appear that any orders from the Court of Tehran upon this subject have been received by the Authorities of Bushire I would therefore suggest the expediency of a transcript of the Royal [Firman?]
