idealistic faiths that condemn murder
as a sin, willing to approve the manu-
facture of hydrogen bombs designed to
massacre hundreds of millions of human
beings? Why do we allow the courts to
give a sentence of five years in the
penitentiary to an idealistic young man
who believes that it is wrong to kill his
fellow man, and who has the strength to
suffer for his convictions. Why!
I think that all of this irrational
behavior is the result of the fact that
war has become irrational, and we have
not yet accepted the inevitable conclusion
that the world must reject war.
