Saturday 8th [two october?] was worked up at at 1/2 past This morning to go and see a man in the hospital at Williamsport who was badly cut in the head he belongs to the 12 Illinois Cavalry he is concerned about his god prayed with and pointed him to the [jaro__?] as best I could returned to my tent 1/2 past 4 o clock [need?] a letter from my Daughter (May) and one from Ms. Smith near [Pektors?] about her sons release from the army in the afternoon visited [Anasee?] Smith prayed with him, left him weeping and praying,[_isc__?] the man[I visited?] this morning they think [P_i_?] better went to the returning of the Reg and make arrangement for preaching on the morrow read the first chapter of John and thus closes the day thank ([__?]) for good health [ ___ ___ ___ ___?]
