wrote to my daughter May
Received a letter from J.S. Crock (?)
visited the hospital in the
afternoon at Williamsport
the man who scXXid a
wound in his head Still
living. the day is very warm and pleasent our camp
was all egcitement to night
in consequence of an order
from head quarters, calling
out our Reg. to meet the
rebels at Williamsport and
Hagarstown 1st Reg. Marched
to Hagarstown thou of our
company was in williamsport
the candals in our tents were
all put out, and also the
camp fires so that the camp
ground was terible dark
I retired to my bed as
calm as a summer eve
not knowing what hour
I would be aroused by the
booming of canon but all
was quiet thank god
