The Board had received from the Collector of Customs of Portland, Oregon, the nomination of Isaac L. Smith, to be Acting Second Assistant Keeper, at Cape Foulweather, Oregon, in the place of Mr. Edward Rice, resigned.
Information is desired as to whether or not this nomination was submitted in response to a request from you. If it was, please forward to the Board the resignation of Mr. Rice, which has not yet reached this Office.
