working in the telephone office, but
I hope you are not thinking of
working there steady. If this war
lasts much longer you will be
following a plow around.

You wanted to know what
that #33 stood for. That's my
Co equipment number. The army
is no different than a jail in
that respect. My serial number
on the identification tag I wear
around my neck runs way
up in the million. It is 1,633,978.

with the #33. I just wanted to do

I received a letter from
Esther Lackey of Richmond
Monday. It is the second one
she has written to me. I have
picked up considerable in my
correspondence since there has
been no non coms school
at night. She wrote to me
first, and writes a very nice
letter so I will keep writing
to her. Believe me I appreciate
letters since I joined the army,
of course you know there used
to be a letter. I appreciated
when I was home to from
a certain party in dearest [?S.O?]
