sun is torture without doing
anything else. Last night we
went out on another trench
digging expedition, and I wasn't
so luck as I did considerable
surveying of a [?peck] myself
and have a blister on my
left hand to prove it. We
started out at eight o clock
and got back a little after
eleven. In the last three times
we have been out on hikes
or field maneuvers the dust
has got so bad we couldn't
see the man in front which
is only forty inches. You can
imagine what is is like, as we
can hardly breath. I changed
my underwear yesterday noon
and took a cold shower, and
when I came in last night it
was just ringing wet again and
when I woke up this morning it
was still wet. I put it on anyway
as I knew we had to go out
again in the morning. This
morning was the worst of all.
When I got back I stood under
the shower for over an hour.
I have taken three showers since
yesterday noon. We all took
one after we got in last night
and got to bed about one o'clock.
Then you think it is warm
