Hi Grandma! We're in Italy now (obviously)
and really enjoying it a lot. The weather
is really great and the
food is even better
(and I thought I was
going to lose weight on this trip -- boy
was I wrong about (u)that(/u)!) We didn't have
much time in Rome -- about a day and a
half, but we managed to see the Pantheon,
the Colesseum, the Vatican and most of
the Vatican museums and a few other
odds and ends of sights we stuck
in along the way. It doesn't sound like
much, but it was a miracle especially
as tired as we were. We got into
Florence yesterday, and didn't really have
time to do much so we got a good
nights sleep which we can always use.
Moved to the hostel this morning, and saw
a Cathedral and half of a museum/gallery.
Tomorrow we're off to Siena for a
smaller city view of Italy and to catch
part of a twice yearly festival (the
only one we'll see while in Europe, we're
mainly avoiding the rest) All goes well,
and its really hard to believe I'll be home in a
little more than a month -- I LOVE YOU -Vickie
