1888

Hochgeehrter Herr Howitt!

Manne, namens Piltilina was Sie zu wissen
wűnshen [sic] wünschen.

1. Yalina Piramurana gehörte zum murdu ,,Manyura"
2. Sein Vater gehörte zum murdu ,,warugati"

Hochachtungsvoll

J. Flierl

[English translation - Margaret T. Newman]
Dear Sir,
At last I am in a position to send on that list with the related naming system. To be frank it has taken me some effort to work the mattter out because the Blacks’ concepts are so difficult.

Regarding the old man named Piramurana
may I inform you that the fellow has died. Therefore I learned what you wish to know from another very old man named Piltilina.

1. Yalina Piramurana belonged to murdu Manyura
2. His father belonged to murdu warugati
3. His mother [ditto] [ditto] [ditto] [ditto] Manyura
It is a fact that the children always
belong to the same murdu to which the mother belongs

Sincerely
