1865 June 8th Weather Dry & Hot
little Henry sick this morning
14th Finished weeding corn on creek
Henry (Little) been sick ever since
last Thursday nearly a week I
Plowed our corn on Branches
Layed out by Lot corn Richard (Honed)
1 1/2 days in Lot - (Calling Read to)
day (on Hulled up ) sweet Potatoes
Yesterday & Irish Potatoes
To day Mr D R Hunt came down
here & my negros Lila Sallie Ben
& Clarborne has been talking
impudent & doing but little
work that Mr. Hunt said he
would go & talk with Lila
give him such impudence and
that he took hold of her &
choked her a little & said he would
Get him a rope & Back his (her/for)
a while & Humble Sallie Ben
ran off from the kitchen & no
body said a work her Lila
ran off & Clarborne ran off as
down as Mr Hunt got over (the)
