Variable, blustering, cooler -- Fair at its best at grounds & in town -- AM I visited the Pavilion for 1st time -- last of the exhibits getting in, including that of the Agricultural Experiment Station -- Quite a lot of choice fruits, vegetables, home preserves, dairy products, some pianos and sewing machines and a few pictures, and a most excellent and extensive exhibit of fancy needlework, embroideries, quilts, rugs, etc -- But generally speaking this was the poorest Pavilion exhibit I have yet seen at any Nevada State Fair - Music & dancing each evening -- This being "Carson Day" quite a crowd came down from there -- Attendance at races best yet -- Met Geo I Lamy from Gardnerville -- Said my letter to Record arrived too late for publish -- as he prints on Monday -- Must get my copy in Friday, or not later than Saturday -- Reno is full of soldier boys and many of them are rather inclined to be drunk & disorderly -- D B Lyman ex Supt of Comstock Bonanza mines moved down yesterday from Va with his family into
