Voted That he be allowed One hundred pounds {Sterling per annum} as a Missionary at Oneida; and inasmuch as he has at great pains & expences acquired the knowledge of the Indian language so as to carry on the service without the charge of an Interpreter.

Voted That in consideration thereof he be allowed the further Sum of Thirty pounds {Sterling per annum}: the said allowance to continue until further Order.

Mr Kirkland having brought with him an Indian man called Thomas, a Deacon of the Church; and represented to the Board that he has since January last acted as a Catechist and Schoolmaster among the said Indians, and that he bears an extreme [strike]a[/strike] good character for understanding and Piety.

Voted That he be allowed Twenty pounds {Sterling per}

[mark?] Provided the Corporation of Harvard College, and the corresponding Members of the Society in Scotland for promoting Christian knowledge will join with the Commissioners in the Appointment of Mr. Kirkland and will contribute to his Support.

Voted That the {Sterling} money aforesaid be paid at the rate of {L133.6.8} {lawful} money for {L100_ Sterling}

That half a years Salary be advanced to Mr. Kirkland, the remainder of his salary to be paid at the years end.

Voted, That the foregoing proceedings be communicated to the Corporation of Harvard College, that they may make such provision out of {Doctor} Williams's donation towards the support of said Mission as they shall think proper. And that the same be likewise communicated to the Commissioners of the Scots Society, that they may, if they think fit assist in carrying on the Service aforesaid.
