The {Reverend} Mr Samuel Kirkland who has for some time past been engaged in the Indian Service at Oneida, under the direction of the {Reverend} {Doctor} Wheelock, having signified to the Board that the said {Doctor} Wheelock is at present engaged in erecting a College in the vicinity of [Cohosse?] and involved in such a [croud?] and multiplicity of business as forbids the defreying the charges of his Mission, as he would otherwise willingly do : and that he the said Doctor Wheelock hath said, he would be willing that he the said Kirkland should put himself under the care and patronage of this Board.
