You have inclos'd an accott against Capt
Hugh Debbiege
, an engineer, who lately sail'd from New York
for England, & may be met with at the Gowen, & have now
to desire that you will add the interest to the time its paid,
and use your endeavour to recover it. The inclos'd letter
please to deliver him; he must pay the interest and damages
as it has been so long due. Had he paid it here on the first
notice the damages should have been abated. We rely on
your endeavours to obtain it, of which shall be glad to hear,
& when rec'd pass to our Cr.

We remain with esteem

To Messrs Jona Barnard & Co
The protest is on record, should
you have occasion for it.
