April 1952

Tuesday 8

Warm day with a few slight showers.
Went to the Show alone - a ghost. Could hardly get there - limbs wd hardly work.
Talked to a Mrs Bryce & her little girl Marylyn.
Made a partial survey of old haunts, ate my bread & butter & left early for Newsreel & home by 4.50.
Met Joe Salter going to train & he carried my parcels on to train & spoke for a few minutes.
Lorna's leg terrible - child due in 6 wks.
Dal called me up during evening, inviting me to a play but I have not the strength for that after matinee.

Warm day with a few slight showers. Went to the show alone - a ghost [maybe 'aghast' but written as 2 words]. Could hardly get there - limbs wd. [would] hardly work. Talked to Mrs Bryan & her little girl Marylyn. Made a partial [indecipherable] of old [indecipherable], ate my bread & butter & left early for newsreel & home by 4.50. Met Joe Salter going to train & he carried my parcels on to train & spoke for a few minutes. Lorna & leg terrible - child due in 6 weeks. Dal called me during evening, inviting me to a play but I have not the strength for that after matinee.
